Motion Trends, PR, 25 July 2005 –  Porsche Middle East has a new Managing Director: Starting  August 1, 43-year-old South African Deesch Papke will be taking over the Dubai-based Subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, Germany. He is succeeding Mark Bishop, who is now responsible for the Company’s Chinese market.

Ever since its foundation in March 1999, Porsche Middle East has shown steady and consistent growth. In fiscal 2004/05 that is ending on July 31, sales will once again be up approximately one-third to some 3,800 units.

Porsche Middle East, the German car maker’s fifth-largest Sales Company, operates in 15 countries ranging from the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait all the way through India to South Africa.

Opening six new Porsche Centers, Porsche Middle East, which already has 21 outlets in the region, plans to step up its presence even further in the years to come.

All three of Porsche’s model series, the 911, the Boxter, and the Cayenne Sports Utility, contribute to Porsche’s success in the Middle East. The market launch of the new Cayman S Mid-Engined Coupé in late November will further boost above-average growth in the region.

The new Managing Director Deesch Papke looks back at a 19-year career in the car industry. Holding a graduate degree in business administration, Papke has gained management experience in various top positions in a number of countries.
