New C-Max: at Frankfurt soon and in the markets next year.

07 Sep. 2009 - Ford of Europe has released the first official images of the all-new Ford C-MAX, which will make its global debut this month at the 63rd Frankfurt Motor Show (public days between September 17 and 27), before its market launch later next year.

The new C-MAX will introduce new technologies to the Ford range, including an all-new 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost direct injection petrol engine and other advanced systems such as the semi-automatic parallel parking and the blind-spot detection.

Ford's new compact MPV takes its design cues from the iosis MAX concept car unveiled earlier at the 79th Geneva Motor Show (5-15 March 2009).

Ford says that its compact (C-segment, lower medium) multi-activity vehicle (MAV), a category also known as MPV, People Mover or Monospace, departs from the usual offerings of its category by using Ford's 'kinetic design' to adopt a more dynamic passenger-car look, with a coupé-like, sweeping roofline while still providing comfort, space, and practicality.

The new C-MAX will be launched in the second half of 2010 and will be the first in a new generation of global vehicles developed from Ford's new C-segment platform, scheduled for introduction over the next several years.

The global range of the C-segment platform will of course include the main model in Ford's compact / lower medium category, the all-new Ford Focus which will hit the markets in late 2010.
