Japanese auto maker Nissan Motor Co. lifted today the virtual covers off its Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, in a clear hint to what a high performance Nissan could look like in the future.
The Yokohama based carmaker indicates that the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo was created through close collaboration with the creators of Gran Turismo, Polyphony Digital Inc., the PlayStation driving franchise ("PlayStation" and "Gran Turismo" are registered trademarks of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.).
This sports beauty started as a project for Nissan designers who were given free rein to create their dream supercar for their own Gran Turismo fantasy garage. Beginnings At first, a team of young designers at Nissan Design Europe, in London, England, created the model, which was considered to have a potential that deserved an additional input from an advanced engineering team based at Nissan Technical Centre in Atsugi, Japan.
The resulting NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo gives hints as to how a Nissan supercar of the future might look. But the story doesn't end here, as Nissan adds that from next month, car enthusiasts will be able to discover that performance first-hand when it becomes available to download in Gran Turismo6, just as they did with the NISSAN GT-R and Skylines from earlier episodes of the franchise.
Since Nissan also ended its release with a promising "watch this space…", we'll particularly wait for the torque and horsepower talk... at that time.
