One of the world's most desirable, if not most usually enviable drop-top sports cars, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is getting a new tuning and design interpretation from the Novitec Torado division of the German Novitec Group, with new options for those who want their open two-seater even more extravagant and dynamic, as promised.

To start from the heart of the matter, the 6,498 cc (396.53 cu. in.) V12 (60°) engine can be boosted by the Novitec Torado recalibrated engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition, in addition to the high-performance exhaust, to increase:

– Maximum power output, from the original 515 kW (700 hp, 691 bhp) 8250 rpm, to 535 kW (727 hp, 717 bhp),

– Peak torque, from 690 Nm (509 lb-ft, 70.4 kg-m) / 5500 rpm, to 709 Nm (523 lb-ft, 72.4 kg-m).

These figures travel via a 7 speed ISR, to the 4WD Haldex generation IV system, and then to the road where the official top speed of the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is 350 km/h (217 mph), with a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 3.0 seconds.

At the other end of the engine work, the Novitec Torado high-performance exhaust systems, which are also available without engine tuning, come in stainless-steel or from even lighter INCONEL used in Formula 1 racing, both with or without the active electronic sound management which can, at the push of a button in the cockpit, lift engine sounds to even more spectacular harmonics.

Besides optimizing performance, these high-performance exhausts also offer weight savings of up to 26 kilograms (57 lb.) over the production system, with lighter and more efficient sports catalysts.

The body styling program for the Aventador model has now been expanded with parts adapted to the roadster version, with even more spectacular looks and high aerodynamic efficiency through additional extensive wind tunnel tests.

All Novitec Torado body styling components are made from carbon fiber and are available with either matt or glossy finish, and in a version for painting in vehicle or contrasting color.

The front bumper is upgraded with a two-piece Novitec Torado front spoiler on the left and right, a central blade and redesigned air intakes. In addition, the front has a redesigned trunk lid with integrated air ducts, and redesigned air extractors in front of the windshield.

The German tuner says that its wind tunnel tests showed these components to reduce negative lift on the front axle, thus optimizing handling stability at high speeds.

For the profile, Novitec Torado rocker panels and carbon-fiber mirror housings lend the Aventador a new look, ending at the rear where the wing is not only an aerodynamic player, but also a distinctly sporty feature. The rear wing is raised by a special Novitec CANTRONIC control unit below speeds of 180 km/h (112 mph), to enhance venting of the engine bay.

The aerodynamic-enhancement approach extends to the special diffuser for the rear bumper, with the possibility to be expanded into an especially efficient double diffuser.

The standard Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster comes in a carbon fiber monocoque structure with aluminium front and rear frames. The body has carbon fiber engine bonnet, movable spoiler and side air inlets. Aluminium is used for the front bonnet, front fenders and doors.

The standard exterior dimensions are 4,780 mm (188.19 inch) for overall length, 1,030 mm (79.92 in.) for width excluding mirrors, 1,136 mm (44.72 in.) overall height, 2,700 mm (106.30 in.) wheelbase and front/rear tracks of 1,720 mm (67.72 in) / 1,700 mm (66.93 in).

Novitec Torado indicates that its height-adjustable sports suspension was developed with KW automotive with extensive road tests. As an alternative, Novitec Torado also offers sports springs that lower the ride height of the two-seater by about 30 millimeters (1.18 inch).

From there, the Novitec Torado high-tech forged wheels (available for both Aventador coupé and roadster), come in three-piece NL1 alloys with five double spokes. The front axle is fitted with 9Jx20 wheels and Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires of size 255/30 ZR 20, with corresponding 355/25 ZR 21 on 13Jx21 rims at the rear.

Inside, the German tuning specialist offers additional options, such as clear-coated carbon-fiber components ranging from door panels to the instrument cluster cover, as well as other high-quality interiors crafted from leather and Alcantara in different color possibilities.
